Inheritance: A Work in Progress

This project was devised by students at UNC School of the Arts around themes of isolation, identity, relationships, and mental health in the fall of 2020. Set at the historic Brookstown Inn, six actors in six separate hotel rooms explored racism, queerness, love, and loss.

Myself and my team of assistants and artisans had to practice COVID-19 safety protocols all while attempting to devise a play during a pandemic. This required planning further ahead to complete rehearsal requests and notes in a timely manner, as well as thinking creatively on solutions to give the performers and directors what they wanted in the safest possible way.

Director: Andy Paris

Other Design Team Members: Romello Huines, Jake Frizzle, Abby Eubanks, Melissa Thurn, John Schirillo
